First and foremost Happy Mother's Day to all you amazing mamas! A huge shoutout to you all! I have been so lucky to be surrounded my so many amazing woman in my life, past and present. Thank you for everything you have done for me and in shaping me into who I am today. I am so thankful for every single one of you and I love you all so much! Happy Happy Mother's Day to you all!

What a week it has been! First off, let me just say you never know what will happen with the seeds you plant and when you will see evidence of old seeds again. Remember Stephane? The guy I met on the bus my very first week in the field in Rennes, who ended up getting baptized? I saw him! I saw him randomly in the middle of Paris! Soeur Thurgood and I had just gotten off the metro and were getting onto the escalator, when right in front of me I saw Stephane! I seriously could not believe my eyes! I shouted his name and he turned, smiled, and waved! Being on the escalator he couldn't really go anywhere so I raced the stairs, taking them two by two to meet him at the top. I cannot explain how big of a miracle this is! Last time I heard about him it sounded like he wasn't doing too well, but turns out he was on his way to do a temple tour! How cool is that?! We talked for a bit and of course took a picture. We both had to get going, but it was seriously so cool to see him! #miracle
This week we had some pretty cool lessons! One however, was what we call Golden! His name is Paul and we got his number from another équipe of souers. We had our first lesson together this past week. He told us he started meeting with missionaries because he seriously wants to learn more about God. He asked us who Satan was and where he came from. We answered his question very simply and he says, "Very interesting," then proceeds to tell us about the war in Heaven and how Satan is the second son of God. Then at the end he goes, "That's just what I've understood from my research with the Bible." Soeur Thurgood and I where shocked! That is exactly who Satan is and what happened! Paul has such a genuine desire and truly wants to meet with us and learn more. It's incredible! We invited him to church and he said he would love to be there! Unfortunately, he didn't come, but called us just to say how sorry he was and that whenever he says he'll do something he does it. Turns out he was taking a nap and didn't wake up in time, but it's okay. 😂 He did say that he will be there this week though! On a side note, he is also from Angola and speaks Portuguese, so his French is mixed with Portuguese too, so sometimes it can be hard to understand him. 😂 During our lesson we wanted to give him a French Book of Mormon, but he said it's hard for him to understand French and would be much easier to read in Portuguese. Our apartment was so close to where we were meeting and we happened to have a Portuguese copy of the Book of Mormon at home, so we asked him if we could go get it for him. He said with pleasure, and that he'd wait for us! Soeur Thurgood and I literally ran to our apartment, barged through our front door, tore through all the Books of Mormon we had until we found the Portuguese one, grabbed it, then ran back, (ok, we did walk when we knew we were within eyesight so we looked a little less crazy) and he was still sitting there, just waiting for us! We gave him the book and he was so interested he started leafing through all of it reading different verses, genuinely so interested! It was amazing! I am so excited to see what happens with Paul! #GOLDEN
Also I have some fun missionary life updates for you all: So turns out that our washer is broken! Which now means, that all of us soeurs (I am currently in an apartment with another équipe so there are 4 of us) are doing our laundry at another missionary apartment. 😂 Aaaaaand our fridge is on it's way out, but it is still currently hanging in there. Soeur Thurgood and I have been on the phone with the missionary building coordinators all week trying to figure all this fun stuff out! Even though it stinks not having a washer right now, it just adds to the adventure! I have also made an interesting realization recently... one of the senior missionary couples gave us some Snickers bars this past week, and woah, sugar explosion!! I guess it's been about seven months since I've had American food, and it was way sweeter than I remember! 😂 Makes me a bit curious to see what food will taste like when I get home. I think being out here I've become more sensitive to sugar, american sugar haha! Anyway life is going good! I am loving Torcy and Paris, and the mission is just so good! This week my spiritual thought is short and sweet but I feel like it serves as a good reminder for everyone.
"God loves us deeply, perfectly, and everlastingly."
- Elder Uchtdorf
Believe and have faith in the love that God has for you. It is eternal and everlasting and it is perfect. 😊
Love you all! Have a great week!
